The first "a" sound in "manage" is a short sound. The second "a" sound is long sound and
The "o" sound in "homepage" is a short sound. The first "e" is a short sound, the "a" sound is long sound and it has a slient "e".

Michael, try reading your words aloud using the long and short vowels that you have prescribed. To me at least, it doesn't sound right; moreover, did you see the words home and page in the word, homepage? That may provide a hint as to how to say the word and its vowel sounds. Finally, while on the topic of vowel sounds, what is slient? How do you pronounce that? And what about pronouncing another word, silent?
Michael, where is this past weekend's grammar assignment?
